MPO is a multi picture format specified by CIPA.

The files follows the JPEG-standard and do in fact contain two or more JPEG-images which makes them easy to split. In fact you can rename an MPO-file to JPG and it should be readable by all jpeg-viewers.

The MPO files from the FujiFilm Finepix Real 3D W1 have two JPEG-images, left and right, compared to the single image with both sides as in stereo JPEGs.

Cameras that deliver MPO-files are currently:

• Ricoh CX-1, a 2D-camera
• FujiFilm Finepix Real 3D W1, a 3D-camera

Only The Real 3D W1 delivers 3D-photos.

Stereomerger reads only the first two images in MPO/MPF-files.
