Merge

From Stereomerger

Jump to: navigation, search

If you have a dual-camera rig or a single camera with a slide bar, or simply uses the cha-cha method, you have to merge the left and right image together.

From the Merge Pairs-panel you can either let Stereomerger merge the images almost completely automatically for you, or you can use the manual method and pick the two images yourself.

Note: This function is not necessary for images taken with real 3D cameras like the Fuji Finepix W1 or cameras with beam-splitters.

Camera Setup

The merge panel
Before Stereomerger can merge the images, it need to know what type of camera setup you have. There are two reasons for this:
  1. The final images must be rotated correctly
  2. The image matching mechanism will do a better job

Destination

This is where you select where to put the final stereo images. The drop down remembers the last used ones, and the browse-button to the right let you open up a file browser so that you easily can choose another destination directory. It is also possible to type in the path directly. Stereomerger will create the necessary folders.

The cryptic looking filename gives you the possibility to name the result files with smarter names than what digital cameras usually do. For a better explanation, go to the Merged filenames page.

Script

This is the script that will be applied to the stereo images. You can also create or edit the scripts. This can easily be changed later in the process, so do not worry too much about this. You can of course choose no script.

Manual

The manual merge is very simple. Just choose one image for each side, and that's it. You can also drag and drop files from the File explorer/Finder.
